Falls
Prevention Program
The Area Agencies on
Aging in Missouri have started a "Steady as you go" program to help prevent
falls. Mary Kay Day is now available to provide information that will help
people realize how serious falls can be and how best to prevent them. She
will be visiting the seniors centers in our 18 county area. This will be
an opportunity for you to ask questions and learn about safety issues in and
around your home. Be sure to check with the senior center in your area to
learn when these programs will be available. Stay and have a delicious
lunch too!

Grandparent Support Groups
Support groups aren't "pity parties". These grandparents don't sit around feeling sorry for themselves. They work together to make things better. A support group lets you meet other people who are going through the same thing you are. You find out how other people learn to cope with their new responsibilities, and you get practical information that can help you and your grandchild. Most meetings have an educational program and a light lunch. Occasional group outings are planned by some of the support groups.
