Question: I heard that the time frame to change my prescription drug plan is different this year, what is it? Signed, John Smith
Answer: Hello John and thanks for asking Meddy. What you have heard is correct the Open Enrollment Period for Medicare Part D, the prescription drug part of Medicare, has changed. It starts October 15 and goes until December 7, 2011. I encourage anyone who has a Medicare Part D plan or a Medicare Advantage plan to go to Medicare.gov and use the plan finder to determine what plan will be best for them for 2012. If you need assistance in checking the plans for next year call my friends at the SEMO Area Agency on Aging at 573-335-3331 for help.
